Voodoo Mites
Remote system that, trough the surprise effect, helps to build and enrich relationships Project Leader Claudio Moderini
Ka Lung Pang, Roberto Pansolli, Peter Knocke, Goals The goal of the project were to find a new system that allows people to make surprises but also to communicate easily using different types of artifacts and devices that already exist in the house.
Project detail VooDoo Mites is a new system which allows people to send various messages, videos, or music to friends and family when the recipient activates triggers placed on personal objects around the house. It is a communication solution that is triggered through actions which allows for spontaneous interaction between people of all ages. Technical details The system is composed of a double side tape that contains a number of two different types of tags. Value and Potential The Voodoo Mite system will allow for people to communicate for a variety of reasons. People can exchange interactions of love, humor, and safety. This new form of passive communication will help people communicate across generations as well as nurture their current relationships. The possibilities of interactions are endless as the sender will be able to customize the interaction with specific knowledge of the sender’s habits.
